This special issue, "Sustainable Energy Solutions: Renewable Energy for Innovation, Policy, and a Sustainable Future," offers a comprehensive analysis of the current status and future potential of wind, hydropower, solar thermal, and ocean energy technologies. The study examines the technological advancements driving efficiency improvements and cost reductions across these sectors, as well as the critical role of effective policy and regulatory frameworks in facilitating their deployment. Furthermore, the manuscript explores the significant environmental and social implications of these technologies, highlighting best practices for responsible energy development and emphasizing the alignment with global sustainable development goals. We hope this work contributes to a deeper understanding of the complex challenges and opportunities presented by renewable energy and informs evidence-based decision-making towards a sustainable energy future.
